Mostly agree. Early on, testing was our only weapon. And outside of


the early days of the pandemic when no one could get tested, Florida has done a very good job with testing capacity. Still, if you look at current trends, with more than 90% of hospitalizations being of the unvaccinated, getting (nearly) everyone vaccinated would have a hugely positive impact on the strain covid is putting on our health care system. WAY more of an impact than widespread testing would.

With omicron as contagious as it is, knowing you have it can only do so much. People aren't going to completely quarantine. My wife knows of a family from our kids' school where the whole family apparently tested positive while they were in California a few weeks back and got on a flight and flew back anyway. On one hand, I can sympathize with the PITA / inconvenience of quarantining in California for another week, but the testing capacity did no good in limiting the spread of covid in their case.
